There was a gun/knife show in town this weekend. I had "new knife fever". Looked at the Benchmades. The new axis lock sure was tempting. I don't own a AFCK, yet, but probably will someday. There was a guy there with some Sabenzas. And I lusted--but just couldn't turn loose of the cash, at least this time. I already own several models of spyderco's. None of them have ever let me down. The price was right. Came home with another Spyderco.

Which one did you get?

Dirk;
I got the plain edge, stainless Endura. It joins my Spyderco family consisting of:
Aluminum Worker, spyder edge. Stainless Mariner, spyder edge. Plastic Endura, spyder edge. Plastic Delica, spyder edge. Wayne Goddard Lightweight, plain edge, and a stainless Standard, spyder edge. I had a plain edge, stainless Police that I really liked, but I gave it to a VERY good friend who had been lusting for it for years. I am sure thats more than you wanted to know, but if you had asked about one of my kids, I would have told you about all of them too!

It appears you like the stainless handles. I never liked them much, the grip never felt all that secure. Plus, when I clipped them to my pocket, they were like a beacon, I would get at least one person a day ask me about my knife.

Looks like you have nice little Spyderco family there. Notice how it keeps getting bigger.

Dirk;
Bigger, but not big enough!---My stainless handeled Standard model has been my day to day work knife for fifteen years. When I bought it then, there wasn't the choices we have now. It has undergone abuse that I don't believe a composite handle could have withstood. You are right about shiney pocket clips standing out though. Most of the time it isn't something I need to woory about, as I spend most of my daily work in rural areas, and communities. When I clean up and go to town though, I do usually switch to one of my black clip models. Happy Cutting!
