G'day, you're 7-OT Cave Bear bears <pun intended> the early Tang stamping with a dash between 7 and OT and is Carbon Steel. The first7-OT's were issued in 1979 as I have one which is the 75th Anniversary model 1904-1979 and it bears the same early stamp. Later stampings had no dash being 7OT.
The high carbon steel models finished in 1995 and from 1996 had Schrade+ stampings = Schrade Stainless Steel. The 7-OT was the first large clip blade model in the OT line followed by the 6OT which did not have rear bolster.
Your knife is probably made in the 1980's.Both models of these knives are featured in my collector corner on Schrades R Us.Just to complicate things further the earliest model from 1979 had 4 handle pins and yours has three but having said that there are 2 models of 3 pin 7OT's <7-OT's> with the third pin in different locations on each....yours is the earliest position 3 pin! Check out Larry's corner and you will see all 3 models side by side....
Its worth what someone who needs an earlier model with 1095 high carbon steel blade will pay, but I suggest about US$30-$40 without box and bling. Hoo Roo
