Just wanted to mention it. ;)

I've been kinda hankering for a 120 General, but, since those are nearly as hard to find as a hen's teeth, unless you buy online, or unless you go to online auction sites, or drive 500 miles to a store that stocks them, I just decided to get another 119 Special. I saw a 120 General at a gun show last year, held in conjunction with a knife show. I'll look for another of those combo shows to come along.

I was wondering, how many more Idaho-stamped 119s are out there...? I think it's a classy date-stamp...and I just got another!

Oh, sorry. I have two 119 Specials with the Idaho outline (2005) and two with the upside-down "T" (2004). There might be a few more Idaho stamped ones out there that I might try getting, too. That Idaho stamp has more character than some.

What's the 2006 date stamp supposed to be? I might've heard it before, but it just didn't stick.

I believe that the 2006 stamp is a T on it's right side.
Thanks Tom, that sounds familiar. I remember that the "overseas" 2005-issue Bucks were stamped with a 'T' on its left side, and I might not have caught that the 2006 U.S.-production will have the "T" on its right side.

I need a book with Buck date stamps. ;)

The March 2005 BCCI News letter has the year codes from 1986 to 2006.

Sorry I don't have a scanner hooked to this machine or I would put up a scan of the chart.

someone said the Blade Guide to knives also has the chart.

2006 = T laying on its right side

Whats missing in the newsletter chart is the T laying on its left side for 2005 "offshore" made Bucks. Instead of the Idaho.

Geothorn...
If you join BCCI, or are already a member, you can see that issue of the newsletter Pack Rat references online.

Probably best not to do that without permission...Copyrighted material and all... ;)

Got a couple more today. :D

Strange, though, one has an Idaho outline stamped into its blade, but the box has "11-23-04" printed on the label stuck to the end-flap. If a Buck 119 Special has the State of Idaho stamped into its blade, but its box says "11-23-04," which is one to believe?

Is date stamping usually fairly accurate? This gives me another reason to keep my boxes, to keep the possible 2004 State of Idaho 119s separate from the 2005s! ;)
