I just wanted to know if a polymer spring would be possible. Is there even a plastic or just about any polymer for that matter thats strong and flexible enough to be a spring? It`d save alot of weight.

They do exist. I know I've seen them used in electronics and toys, there was even a plastic slinky.

Plastics can make great springs. But, molding a coil spring is very tricky and metal usually ends up being less expensive. But, it is very common to see other spring forms in plastic.

Advanex is a leading designer of spring components. They do plastic.

Oh, because I know different types of nylons are very flexible. I was kicking around the thought of a motorcycle suspension design that used a plastic coil that uses magnets for the bottoming resistance or a suspension system that doesnt even use a coil, the suspension is a magnetic field. I think both of them sound like they could probly work with some r&d put into them.
