So, I got a SAK for Christmas. I said "thanks", took a quick peek at it, and threw it in my back pocket, upright next to the wallet. There it has stayed, though I've worn different jeans and my military uniform, it still is there, moving always with my wallet -- my new companion. Damn it. Do I need this? Oh, of course, I still carry my trusty 14210 up front, the nature of my work requiring a locking blade (thank you axis). Everything was good, my new buddy even replacing my rarely-carried-but-always-needed multi-tool.
I love this little guy, named the Hiker or something. Then I made my first mistake. I wondered to myself if there was a SAK that didn't have a saw, as the last time I thought, "Damn, I wish I had a saw" I was in high school wood shop. I checked out Victorinox.com and it all began. So many stinking models. Next I found SOSAK. Now, I've never been a member of the Skull and Bones like my boss has, but I have a feeling SOSAK is pretty close. I'm already trying to find a way in.
Well, that's my story. I always thought SAK's were for Boy Scouts, but now I reach for it just as often as my 14210. If anyone out there is looking for a new addiction, you're welcome.
