So I just recently picked a Sebenza 21 and an SNG. I am wondering where to go from here. Are there any other high end production or semi-custom knives that are on par with these two knives? I have seen the Umnumzaan and I am not sure if I like that one but maybe I will try it and see. I specifically am looking for a frame lock knife in the $300.00 to $500.00 range. After the two mentioned above am I now looking at custom knives to fill the bill or are there others to look at before I take that step? Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

Time to move on to fixed blades.

I own a sebenza, and I can't bring myself to buy another folder.

Spyderco's RIL Sage (Sage II) would be comparable to a medium Sebenza, with a FFG and deep carry wire clip. :)

You could go larger with a SMF or smaller with a PT, also look at some custom makers (though that gets pricey fast).

You can try & find a Hinderer XM-18.

I have considered that but I think with the popularity and scarcity it is going to fall outside my price range. I got to handle one a while back in a passaround and I would love to have one.

ZT 0300 series are outstanding knives and very impressive, especially at their pricepoint. Try one out.

Microtech LCC/MA if you can find one. While not a framelock, it's probably one of the best liner locks out there.

For customs in that range try a Kirby Lambert model. F&F on his knives is outstanding. Same with Les George folders if you can score one in that range.

+2 or 3 to going to fixed blades. You're not going to find anything better than your Sebenza- that's pretty much as good as it gets.

There are bunches of really nice production knives in the 200-400 dollar range, or more, eg a sog facet, benchmade mini presidio damascus, and tons of others. Don't think any will be better the what you got, maybe equal, or fancier decorations though. I agree, though, time to go custom and/or fixed.

Hell, pick up an 'zaan-- different enough from the seb 21 to justify it. I'm thinking about getting one myself.

Also, although not as expensive as the seb or strider, the sub-zero's are pretty cool.

Id say use those knives for a while and see if you actually need more knives. If you don't use those knives and just collect well then just get what you like the look of :)

If in doubt buy a busse

Put yourself on a pre-order list for the Titanium Spyderco Military. You won't see anything like it for a long time.

If you have the cash, go the customs route. A lot more interaction between your taste and the maker and they will be far more collectible than any Strider/Sebenza.

I think it depends on your objectives. Assuming that you acquired a large Sebenza, you've got some superior quality, larger do-anything working knives. Congratulations! If your direction is harder use than that, going the fixed-blade route would be an option. If, however, you do the occasional dressy or formal business thing, perhaps a highly refined (yet extremely robust and functional) dress knife is in order. I'd recommend the CRK Mnandi or something in the William Henry line for those purposes.

Strider SMF and Busse Ash 1 are my two favorite blades of all time.

I hear a lot of good things about the Hinderer those have mentioned.
There are some amazing knives in the customs section that can be found at pretty good prices from what I've seen.

Maybe it's time to get an awesome fixed blade though?

Is that statement even allowed to be uttered here on this forum. :D

Have not seen this one yet, I will have to look into it, thanks

Try one of Tim Gaylean's Junk Yard Dog's "Pro Series." He has his own forum here.

Just checked these out and they look sweet, falls into my price range as well, thanks
