Hi Everyone,

Happy to say I bought myself my first Sebenza today. A Large 2010 LE Spalted Maple, Left handed. I am so impressed with this knife I can't even begin to tell you. It is just beautiful. Can barely put it down long enough to type this post!

Very similar situation here to so many others I have read, have been carrying BM's / Spyderco and few others for close to 20 years now it seems. Have had some very nice knives along the way from makers like William Henry and Emerson among others but not very many knives took the EDC crown for me other than my trusty decade old aluminum 940, until the somewhat recently when a CF Caly 3 began sharing pocket time.

Have been thinking about getting a Seb for a long time now, and found that a local dealer had this 2010 LE Lefty in stock and had to move fast so that no one bought it first! Had to sell a 940 TI and a William Henry to afford this but it was sooo worth it! I also want to mention that this large Sebenza is really not THAT much bigger than my 940 when closed and side by side and so far doesnt feel much bigger or heavier in my pocket. Yet open them up and the Sebbie just seems so much better suited for any tough job. A lot more steel comes out the Sebenza handle than the 940, much more than it looks like it would be when they are closed.

This is by for the finest knife I have ever owned, most likely the best I ever will. Though, I am already planning on my second one, probably a small, maybe plain maybe Micarta. Probably sooner than I should.....

Will try and get some pics up tomorrow.

Thanks!
Scott

Congrats! I'm in the same boat as you except reversed. I just bought the small and I like it so much I'm already trying to figure out how I'm going to pick up the large as well.

Sebenza's are simply awesome knives....

I just got my large plain 21 today too!! Although mine was used and I had to immediately break her down and lube her up.

Congrats! I too have a large 2010 LE Spalted Maple left hand and it is a beauty. It's great to have a company like CRK making great knives for us southpaws. My LE's are safe queens due to their rarity. Currently I EDC a large left hand Insingo. If for some reason I lose it (god forbid) I know I can replace it. I don't have that option with my LE's! I predict that this will be the first of many in your future!:thumbup::cool::D:p:p

Thanks everyrone. Yes - an addiction for sure! I will have a small 21 Lefty within a month, and already cant wait even with this brand new 2010 LE in my hand!

I held a lot of very fine knives in the store that I bought this one at and many customs too but nothing quite had the same feeling in my hand as the Sebenzas. Highly functional artwork.

@molly's survival - how I wish I could find a mammoth bark lefty!!! Income tax return is right around the corner :)

Scott Dog - I was told by the owner tonight that CRK only made 4 2010 LE Spalted Maple Large Lefties, so you and I own half of them in existance!

As they said, welcome to the addiction. I bought a large and small 21 in November and today my 9th Sebbie came in the mail. I have a small classic micarta on the way in the mail and I ordered an Umnumzaan about 2 hours ago.

All left handed. :D

Awesome Paradiggum! As Scott Dog mentioned, CRK is really good to us lefties!

Yep. I remember a time back when I wouldn't pay more than $50 for a knife so I had to carry right handed knives. Until Spyderco started making ambi knives. There may have been some around at that price point but I wasn't as knowledgeable about brands. Now most makers make LH friendly knives but I'm really digging the quality of the CRK knives I have. A small 21 shares EDC time with a couple of others now.

@Punisher - haha too funny! I suppose I will always remember tonight, with it being my first time and all...

It's really not as nice as you think. So since I'm such a nice guy, I'm willing to help you mitigate your loss by buying it off of you for $100.

I've had my first and only for a week now. Still can't put it down. So simple yet so elegant and perfect at the same time. Are there prettier knives out there? Maybe. But function all alone can make something very aesthetically pleasing. Even though it's so simple you can tell every single detail was well thought out.
