I got a Large 21 from my fiancee over the weekend. I had been looking at them for a while but hadn't taken the plunge. So, getting it as a gift made it very cool and made me stop hesitating.
First off, the whole knife is very understated. No flash, pomp, or circumstance. It just seems to beg to be used. At the same time, it is a bit underwhelming. However, after disassembling it to remove the lanyard and putting it back together and having the Sebenza lock up perfectly and still be silky smooth, you really appreciate the level of craftsmanship involved. I have disassembled other knives and they never really seemed to go back together as perfectly.
Ergonomically, the knife is extremely well thought out and is a joy to use. Which is a bit of a surprise to me for such a large knife.
My one complaint is that it didn't come as sharp as I would have expected. It had trouble slicing paper. However, a quick touch up on the Sharp Maker and it's very, very sharp. Easily removes hair and slices very well.
All in all, I can understand the draw of the Sebenza. I might look at getting one with inlays. I suppose the sickness has begun...
