I ordered from Tomars on Tuesday, and got them today (Saturday, from NY to Utah), that was very fast.

I gotta say, I'm very impressed with the heft of these blades, these are my first Beckers, and I'm a happy camper.:)

Here's what I got:
BK11BK2BK7BK9.jpg

Here's the BK2, BK7, and BK9 with sheaths:

BK2BK7BK9.jpg

Here's the BK11 and the little BK13s, one 13 came with the 7, another with the 9:

The sheaths for the 7 and 9 have spots for the 13s:

Yep, I'm liking these very much, thank you Ethan.

Now if I could find a BK10 I'd be pretty well set for survival knives, that and finish the work on these two 12" military Kukris I got from Sarco, pardon the plastic in the pic, it's still dripping cosmoline:

Hey Donny. Looks great. Could you post a pic of the back of the BK7/9's sheaths? Also, I'd like to see a top view of the necker to get an idea of how wide the handle is. Thanks!

Happy to do it.

Here's the back of the 7 and 9:

Here's a closeup showing the 2" belt loop, and the 2 tie down holes at the bottom of the sheath, you can also see the 13 tucked in there:

Here's a view from the top, model and blade thickness are, left to right:
13(?, thinner than the 11), 11(1.65"), 2(1/4"), 7(.188"), 9(.188)

A closer look, pardon my quickie wrap job (anyone have links on cord wrapping knives/sheaths ?) blocking your view on the handle of the 11, it's the same thickness as the blade:

did you use the cord that came with the necker for the wrap?

I did, and after wrapping the handle there is still over 3' left to hang the sheath around my neck. I really really like this little knife, and for the price, I just might buy a few more and give them as gifts, and get myself a spare.

As for the 13s, they fit really tight in the sheaths, I'm not dure those handles could be wrapped and still fit in there, maybe with smaller diameter cord.

I really do need tips/help on wrapping cord, I suck at it, I can never get it tight enough with clean looking knots, I've tried a bunch on another knife, my kayaking blade (Buck Tiburon, not my pic):

And since I only have one decent knife left to my name (except for an endless pile of $20-30 work knives and a gripful of multi tools) that y'all haven't seen in this thread I may as well toss it in, a Cold Steel Recon (not my pic):

Clearly I'm new to collecting knives. That's the great thing about these Beckers, they're super sturdy knives that should last a lifetime at a low enough price point that a working stiff like me can throw down a couple hundred bucks and have a handful of nice knives, a jump start to a little collection.

Ethan, if you catch this I would like to politely beg you for the BK10 Utility Crewman in the all kydex tacticool:p sheath. Hear me out: Survivalists want them, survival as a hobby/interest/lifestyle is kinda trendy right now, get 'em out there and all the Bear Gryllis/Les Stroud groupies may snap them up, and I'll take two!:)

Hey donnyh....

First may I THANK YOU for your generous support of my lifestyle and Christmas fund...and Second thank you for your generous praise....I am really glad that you are happy with your BECKERs and I hope that they continue to please you and that they will work hard for you.....

One thing I might suggest as a possibility for cord wrapping the BK13 REMORA with is a braided high test fishing line...When I was a kid this stuff was generally refferred to as "catfish" line....Another possibility is Dacron deep sea fishing line I bought a couple of spools of it 20 years ago, one @ 65# test and one at 120# test and I have been happiy with it for lashing and stuff....I think you would want the 65# and wrap just the frame of the handle....The "catfish" line comes in much more reasonable quantities(I had to buy a huge quantity of the Dacron line) and it comes in OD....

Again...Many thanks, that was quite a leap of faith to buy FOUR knives from someone whose product you had never used......I am very flattered !!!!

All Best....

hey Guys....

They still make the Dacron stuff and cabela's has 500 yd spools of 130 # test for 30 bucks and bow fishers evidently us an 80# line approx 4 bucks for 50 ft......

I have always wanted a Campanion and have asked the big fat elf for one this year. That thing is a sharpened tank.

yah, good stuff. TWO remoras. sweet.

love the pictures. keep them coming guys!

when my new guys come in, i'll finally be forced to take some pictures. another thing i've been meaning to do: photograph the original boxes, where i still have some most of them. why yes, i do :) these new boxes are different enough, that the old boxes just became worth of having been kept. hee.

also, a sheath comparison down through the years. i have to say, some of the early leather ones were QUITE nice, and then they went all ulta sweet with John Carver's Eagle Industries Sheaths - super nice, and then kydex got into the game, and then kydex inserts in nylon, and ... :) evolution of products is interesting.

That's a great idea Nathan, I'll have to look into it.

Thank you for being here on The blade forum, the ability to interact here with the designer is really nice for a potential customer, and the members input here on the different models peaked my interest in owning multiple Beckers instead of just the one or two I originally planned.

Hey, does it say KA-BAR on the blade at all?

It does, the exact same logo that's on the box is on the blade, the model number is on the other side of the blade.

I tried a pic, the logo on the blade is black on black so it's hard to get a good pic, here's a closer look at the box instead:

Hey Guys....

J.Williams.... As of now they are only available by purchasing a BK9 or BK7 .......If they prove popular we will most likely bring them out as a separate item.....

J. Hansenak47..... Hmmmm.......Maybe........Please check in after SHOT Show in mid January.......I really hate to be mysterious, but, we have a lot of stuff under discussion right now and I Do Not wish to either raise or dash hopes on the "Thinking" ," Discussing", "Maybe" projects....I really appreciate your interest and hope you will check in often......

All Best...

wow, tomar is FAST. i ordered late friday, and bam, here they are today. little smokey ;) amusing: i used to live 30 miles from the guy. small worlds.

got 4 knives!

two neckers, one each of BK11CSM and BK11(carbon), BK9, and BK13.

interesting detail: the CSM - carbon/san-mai is NOT coated by anything, best i can tell. just a nice stainless/carbon/stainless sammich. the thick black line of carbon inside the stainless is very pretty. VERY good looking knife, seems extremely sharp.

the regular BK11 is a little different looking that the camillus models - the coating is very evenly black, and smooth. very sharp. feels great in the hand. the bang for the buck on a naked knife like this... extreme - compare to other makers with nearly the exact same thing. i can see myself wanting more (especially as gifts).

and the BK9. tomar made sure it came with a BK13. good man. i'll have to open the vaults and get the minty BK9 by camillus out and compare later, but to me it feels great. good flat edge, sharp. this would make a fantastic chefs knife - forget a kitchen line :> here you go! if we get the magnum camp back, well, tadah. the only things that would improve is a san-mai version without coatings ;) hehehehe.

mmm, a san mai machax. i know, i know :)

now i can't made for the end of January 2009... we have *7* Beckers out now... outstanding.

(BK/KB: 2, 3, 7, 9, 11, 11CSM, 13);

what's next? :)
