It's my first time in this neck of the woods, but I hope I am welcome. I was lucky enough to recieve a SW SIFU in a trade. It is just breathtaking. I don't know why I didn't buy this knife before. I guess I was intimidated at first. Not any more though. This thing is a BITCH to sharpen though. I'm not really good at sharpening the recurve portion.

Welcome Sgt. to the Sifu club. I should tell you now that this knife is addicting. Soon you might find yourself buying another because the blade/handle is different color or "it was such a good deal". I carry my SW bladed one as an EDC, but my favorite is the red handled version.
It is very big, but carries well even with duty gear. Guessing by your clip art we work in similar fields (happiness is a 10-15

) Although be prepared for work colleges or friends to give you a line of bull like "man, is it BIG enough" ect... I think when they come out with a folding lance I'll carry that, until then I'm very happy with the SIFU.
As far as sharpening it in the recurve area it can be a bitch. I just go slow and do that area separate and "try" to keep it consistant with the rest of the blade.
I think you'll find this is a GREAT KNIFE!!
Be safe out there

The Sifu IS an excellent folder! I have 2 of the MONSTERS...(Both are stonewashed, one is ATS-34, and the other is D-2E, and both have black G-10 scales), and am working on a trade for my 3rd Sifu!...(black "T" blade).

Thanx for making me feel welcome to the "SIFU club". My comrads in arms are already giving me flack for carrying such a large knife. Most of them carry Spydie's, CRKT's, and a few BM's. They wouldn't understand though. It's a SIFU thing I guess. Maurice, good luck on the exams.

MAURICE, glad to here that your looking at joining the service after college. My hat is off to all our brave service persons who work hard to make things right and safe.

To answer your question

a 10-15 is a California radio 10-code for "prisoner in custody"

USAFSP - I told you they would say it's too Big

Welcome to the REKAT club, people either love them or hate them I think, I love mine!

Although the Sifu is the only Rolling Lock I don't have (too big for my taste but I've thought about one more recently) I sharpen all my recurve's on a Spyderco Sharpmaker. It handles the longer blades very well and performs miracles on the recurve's.

Have fun with the REKAT, I'm sure it won't be your last
