Hi all,
The Postman just delivered my new Trident folder from NGK. I'm short on time to write a review so hopefully someone can help me out with my questions.

1. The lock is free (IE; no resistance) for the first one third of the motion to disengage it. When open if you shake the knife up and down the lock rattles in the well. Is this normal?

2. I think I see what is a internal steel stop pin. Am I correct? or do the thumb studs act as a stop pin.

I'm very happy with the knife for many reasons and when I get the time I'll post some impressions.

Thanks in advance!, and Cheers,
Rob

My lock is "free" too but I've been wondering the same thing...for about two years so it hasn't been a big deal with me. AFAIK the thumbstuds do act as the stop pin but I'd prefer them to rest on metal as well.

Well just got off the phone with a very nice woman from SOG. She says that the lack of resistance in the first third of lock disengagement is normal and is used for the self adjustment for wear of the lock. I forgot to ask about the stop pin vs. thumbstuds but after looking under a loupe I notice that on my Trident the thumbstuds do not contact the the scales. Lock up is sturdy with no play what so ever.
Cheers,
Rob
