I got a Tsunami at a Sport Chalet and have to say it's the best fixed blade knife I own (or at least my fave; I own mostly folders). It took me a while to decide between the Seal Pup and the Tsunami, but the latter won out for a variety of reasons. One, I liked the edge grind and edge/blade length ratio better. Two, I tried each knife in sheath attached to my belt and liked the fact the Tsunami rides much lower and is more comfortable. I like the modified tanto point on this (I don't always like tanto points) because it smoothly transitions towards the tip, rather than a chisel point, more like an actual tanto.
The model I have has a steel index finger guard, which differs from the one I see in the catalog that came in the box; I assume the addition of the guard is an improvement made since the catalog was printed?
As for the sheath, it's very comfortable and natural. But because it's leather, if it ever wears out, would there be a way I could buy a replacement directly from SOG? I know the sheaths are not covered under warranty.
The one thing I did like better about the Seal Pup was that the handle was solid Zytel, which *might* be stronger and more durable after prolonged use than Kraton. However, I don't foresee anytime soon wearing out this knife.
Anyway thanks for creating this beautiful, functional knife.
