Got a WE Tech 1911.... ?

So my brother brings me this 1911 because he's sure I know everything about every brand of firearm/pseudofirearm...:rolleyes:

Of course I don't, but I what do have is a band of Gadgets & Gear heads who have probably seen this thing someplace.

It's got a magazine with some sort of gas injection port at the bottom, some sort of spring loaded button at the top, and a spring running full length top to bottom...

Doesn't appear to have anyplace to put any "ammo" into it other than between the "ears" of that little nub on top of the mag which I hope you can see in my lousy pic.

If you have any experience you can pass on to me, or some video references that might help me to identify and operate this thing, I'd be much appreciative!WE 1911.jpg

They did have a manual for it that I could look at though. Thank you eveled eveled

Not really into airsoft myself. Maybe one of the neighbor kids will want to muss with it.
 
Update: So it turns out my co-worker's kid is quite the Airsoft afficianado.

There's cans of Green Gas that you can buy for the propellant. You fill the magazine with the plastic BBs and propellant. The green gas has silicone lube mixed in.

In a pinch, you can fill it with propane via this little adapter (which it turns out came with the gun), but you have to mix silicone spray yourself, and apparently it stinks like hell to shoot.

There's a website www.evike.com that has more gadgets and gear for this Airsoft hobby than one can look at in a year of browsing, and my 1911 is probably the most subdued weapon of the bunch. If you have a bunch of cash and the inkling to shoot some plastic BBs, you can build an arsenal that rivals any USSOCOM unit. It's quite the hobby, apparently.

I never messed with green gas guns... just the old fashioned CO2 cannisters.

There are several very large online forums devoted to airsoft, and WE is a fairly popular brand.
