David,
I bought the black version yesterday and you guys are selling this knife too cheap!
This has got to be the best knife buy of the year! I used to think that honor belonged to Kershaw's Whirlwind (it's still a great buy)but now that I've got this one in my mitts you guys should be sharing that award with Kershaw.
I gotta tell you, I'm really happy with this new clip design. It's a real "why didn't I think of that"? bang up feature. It truly feels like there is no clip, but yet it clips so easily to the pocket. Can you patent this? I think it's the best thing since the Spydie hole. I also hope that it becomes as big of a success as the Spydiehole.
Really great knife!

To Misque:

Many thanks for the feedback and yes we are in the process of filing a patent for the recessed clip. Glad you like it.

Outdoor Edge has been in business eleven years but we are brand new to the high tech folder market. We therefore want to offer quality products that also offer a great value. There is no question our Impulse and Magna are deals compared to most of the competition.

In the R&D stage of these products we kept pushing our manufacturers for higher quality. As a result the final landed cost was higher than we expected and we will be raising prices on these new models the beginning of 2000. The increase will be modest from 5-10%. Even with this price increase, these knives still offer a great value. Again thanks for the comments and wishing the best.

Also received my Impulse (also black) yesterday.I can't add much to Misque's post, except to predict that even at the final price, these are going to fly off of the shelves.I knew that if I lived long enough, someone would invent a high tech knife where the pocket clip didn't louse up the grip, and Mr.Ralph did it! Now I have to try the Magna.

Folks,
David has been blending clips into handles for a while now.. His field lite line of knives have simular features. David and I worked together on the impulse clip to make it great. Our goal was for the clip to go into the pocket deep, disappear when handled, ALSO to look like part of the knife NOT an add on.. I feel honored to be in business with such a fine gent as David. Thanks for the kind words.

Thank you for the kind words Darrel. The honor is all mine to work with such a great designer and knife maker as yourself.

I usually pick up most new knives that are manufactured to check out their quality and to see if they would be something I would feel OK about selling to a customer.

I recently picked up an Impulse. My first impression was that it is a very well made and well designed knife. The quality to price ratio is excellent. I didn't have the knife in my possession for more than an hour, the first person that I showed it to bought it.

Nice knife David/Darrel
