I was looking at my BK11 and thought to myself that I may get another and strip it, just for $hits and giggles. Anyone done this yet? If so post some pix please. What are your thoughts on this. Of course if i do this it will be more prone to rusting so I will probably keep a layer of some kind of wax on it...maybe renaissance?

I just finished stripping the blade of my BK11, left the handle black & wrapped w/green para550.

I would like to post a picture but do not know how. I have joined photo bucket and have the image ready to go.

Can someone instruct me on how to post a photo into a reply. The simpler the better for me!

Thanks.

Ok I figured it out. Convexed & razor sharp!

Nice! Did you use a chemical stripper or what? And I actually thought of stripping that way myself. Thanks for the pix!

Hi Edge,

I tried to sand it but that was not to productive. I actually used my Mora 556 to scrape it off. Then I used steel wool and finally Simichrome polish. The finish was a lot more durable than I expected! It took a convext edge really well with a mousepad and sandpaper up to 800 grit, then stropped to a razor edge. I like the way it looks. My RC3's finish is trashed and that one is next!

Anytime! Give it a try. Your request, was the push I needed, to learn how to post photos. I should thank you!

Looks good man!

Another option for anyone trying this...

I just finished stripping and blueing my RC4, you can see some pics of it finished here if ya want. But I just used some chemical stripper I bought at Lowe's for like $6 or $7. Coating bubbled off with about 10 mins, super easy, I assume it would work just as well on the coating on the Becker's.

Google M40 wilderness survival and check out what he did with a 20 dollar kukri,I did one a while back and it didn't turn out half bad for the crude equipment I have at the moment.
