Considering carrying this brand, but have not seen any in person. What are your opinions on the brand, and the knives ?

I posted this same question last week. The response was very weak. Hopefully yours will be much stronger.

Try doing a search in the Bladeforums Year 1 forum. I seem to remember some controversy over QC and some people being very disappointed. I don't have any first hand knowledge so I don't know what the scoop is. I do think they are a bit over priced for what they are, and I've handled 3 or 4 different ones. That's my two pennies.

Them:"What's that clipped to your pocket, a beeper?"
Me:"Uuh....yeah, something like that."

Search on TiNives in the auto forum. There's a thread dated 11/20/99 that will have what you're looking for. Bottom line - TiNives was having some pretty serious QA problems at the time.

I played with a couple of different stars & stripes models and they both had numerous defects in the finish. The lock up was not that tight (side play). The action was not anywhere near as smooth as a SpeedTech. The handles are OK, but I still prefer the SpeedTech handles. Overall, I don't think they are worth the money. Actually, I don't think I would even pay the wholesale price for one.

Although they were having problems in the past, I have heard that Larry Chew is working a collaboration with them. Larry's stuff is KILLER! If TiKnives wants to get back on track, Larry is the guy who can certainly help them do it.
