Well The camping trip was a great success.

I looked for ways to abuse my busse. And I found them. About the only thing i didn't do with it was dig.

It was heavenly... truly a knife from the gods.

Plus I just loved the feelign of having this 7" knife strapped to my side for 5 days. I truly wish society allowed for me to have it year round wherever I go.

You can. Just don't let anyone know. ;) I'm pretty short (5'5") and find that the Basic 7 can be worn IWB pretty unobtrusively under a polar fleece vest. I work in air conditioned server rooms, so the vest doesn't look out of place. However, the B7 isn't quite as comfy or handy IWB as the Basic 5 on someone as small as I am.

But I agree totally with your assessment of the B7 as a magnificent all-purpose outdoors/survival/camping knife. I also find it's a great blade in the kitchen for hacking apart chickens, chopping veggies, slicing bread, or even stirring your tea.

The Busse Basic #7 is currently my favorite out of town knife. One caution, be careful if you throw it at trees. The first time I tried mine this way it rebounded with a fury, and had I not been nimble enough to get out of the way, I'd be singing soprano today. :D

I wish we can wear our knives out. I am getting attached to my fixed blades again.

people automatically think you are a serial killer. if you conceal it and you are caught. you would have tons to explain especially in WA state where all fixed blade carry is ILLEGAL unless you can prove you are going camping and such.

when I lived in new mexico 1990-2, I carried first a buck skinner everyday all day. then I had glock field knife. not once did I get weird looks or anything. it was matter a fact. I don't know if the feelings have changed.

I wish I get some money saved and buy a alot of land and wear my fixed blade all day and live my life.

dreaming...........
