Well, as a replacement for my broken EDC work knife(seehttp://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=254242 ), I got a Microtech Mini-UDT. It was one of the newer ones with a safety, but I said real men don't need sfties! I had carried other autos without safeties before and never had any problems. The only difference, and a big one I realize now that its to late, is that they had clips. Clipped to the side of my pocket it is near impossible for the button to get pressed enough to open the knife. I did some testing and thought that it would be to difficult for the mini to fire accidentily.
Well, I was worng. I guess being in the bottom of my pocket with my keys and wallet, my movement was enough to fire the blade. It took me a while to notice, and naturally once I realized that a razor sharp knife was sticking out the side of my pants, I reached in to remove it. Of course I grabbed the blade and got a nasty slice on the pad of my index finger. This was at work, and on my way to clean up i manged to leave a nice blood trail on the floor.
Now I will make real sure that I always carry it with the safety on, since it doesn't have a clip. I am thinking of adding a clip to.
