I’ve enjoyed Randall’s for quite a time given the FL origin, legacy and contemporary production. This said, I expanded and discovered Ralph Bone. Here there’s been a touch of commentary which is nice. The book was quite helpful. Some of the traditional fixed knives are similar to Randall’s. But I’m posting to just share how much I enjoy this Lockback folder which I describe being almost meaty and soap-like. It’s just wonderful in-hand; while I’ve numerous Ralph Bone knives, I targeted this folder because of the likelihood it’s his engraving (and initials match mine). I believe it’s from 1968 (I haven’t referenced the book on it, but being one piece machined brass it’s said these were personally made by Bone). I presume the wood was obviously dovetailed and epoxied on.
