It has been a long time since I have been around here. I got burnt out almost 2 years ago after a hard go at it and took a leave. I have no idea where I am heading but for right now here is a new knife I built for myself. I was getting the idea after looking at antique hunting equipment ads. I wanted to try and build a hunting knife that maybe a hunter 50+ yrs ago might have purchased and carried in the field. Had to be carbon steel, which I prefer anyways, and be void of kydex, rope handles, or anything synthetic. Well I will try to get this pic right the first time. Anyways the blade is made from an old lawnmower blade I tested for carbon by quenching and breaking in vice. It is 1/8" thick, mild steel guard that is made from one of those toolbox drawer locking rods like those cheap craftsman toolboxes use. Hidden tang design with a 1/8" music wire pin through handle. Deer antler handle sealed. I cheated and bought the sheath from Texas knifemakers supply (forgive me
) Well Dave larsen and anyone else who may remember me,Bruce Evans, I go in tuesday to have my right eyeball removed and to get a prosthetic put in. I had a childhood injury that has developed into neovascular glaucoma and my eye is dying and in terrible pain so I wish today was tuesday cause it is hurting worse. Wish me luck. Cory McAlpin
