I had a big automatic in my left hand and gestured with my right hand. Hit my pinky on the blade and I felt a prick; thought I hit the tip of the blade. No such luck.

It went right down the blade and the only reason it didn't go to the bone was that my fingernail stopped it.

Blood on the blade like in the movies and blood pouring out. Really took awhile to stop bleeding. I thought about a trip to urgent care.

I haven't cut myself in years and haven't cut myself this badly in decades.

Feel free to shame me a little and take it as a reminder to be careful.

Those fingers can bleed a lot. Gotta put some pressure on it and elevate your hand above the heart. Just keeping it up above your head or head level works great. Numbing Polysporin is a good thing to have too.

I cut my hand in a similar way in my hatchet years ago. Hope it heals up fast .
