Started on the other forum. We need another salsa. Sal said they have discussed it but I sure would like to see a hood on it.

Yeah, Sal said there were complaints about the hood waving the knife open when taking it out of the pocket. Personally I think it is what makes the Salsa so distinctive.

Sorry guys I don't think I've got enough to go around :p

With that said, I would love to see another Salsa run! I'd love to see Titanium handles without an integral comp lock, I just don't like how they look. Get some new steel too and I would definitely buy a few! The Aus 8 in mine is more than adequate but I wouldn't say no to something newer like XHP or S30V :D

Oh man, I would be all over that, I'd even just be happy with the 440c and blue model! Just keep it at a good price 8)

I stopped carrying my Salsa after the second time the hood opened the blade inside my pocket. I did finally find a way to carry a tip-up only knife with a Cobra hood safely. I carry my Assist in the door pocket of my car.

I carry my assist in the center console. If you get in a crash that thing will go flying if its just sitting in the map pocket. My friend got in a car crash and his cellphone somehow actually flew completely out of his pocket and across the car. I've been looking for a good way to attach it somewhere more at-hand, but haven't come up with a good secure way yet.

Sorry, Jack. I should have known it was to keep those damn kids off your lawn! :highly_amused:

That's a catchy title, not into the Salsa knife but I'm pulling for you hehe.

The Cobra hood in removable via screw, yes? It would be cool it spyderco included a small steel piece that goes over the recessed area of the blade when the cobra hood is removed. That way you could have it the way you want it.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^this^^^^^^^^^^^^ I have one, stopped carrying it when I finally cut my self getting change out of my pocket.

nice design, just needed to work out the bugs, maybe set it up for tip down carry. at least that way when it opens in your pocket its when you are pulling your hand out instead of putting it in your pocket.
