'Cause I like it a lot! :D

I don't think RamZar had this listed in his poll, but I think it's my favorite material now. The topographical texture is just too cool for school. I had a thread heaping praise on the Zulu and I got the PPT a couple of days ago. These are good looking blades!

Any other fans of this handle material out there?!

Gotta say I'm liking the PPT like crazy...dare I say...this could be...the one!!! The perfect folder for me! The handle melts into my hand like spyderco made it just for me and the looks are just stellar. Think I'll be doing a thread soon on this blade to ooooh and ahhhh over it. ;)

I've done some food prep, cutting up a little card board and played with this wood. Super easy to control and cuts like a champ.

I'm not a fan of the looks but I haven't tried one out
I'm open though!

The PPT would be perfect without the heavy steel backspacer and with a titanium lock and no liner on the non locking side. Thiel makes it that way, but it is $800+ :o

I've been reading oodles about the PPT for weeks and the most frequent complaints aren't causing me problems. The heft is fine for me...in some ways, I like it more maybe...even though it's substantial it feels lively to me. The choil area is A-ok for me too.
Thiel is priced like an Anso! Ouch! I like my spydies! :D

Definitely a fan of the PPT here. :)
The weight isn't a detractor for me. Just makes it feel like a solid knife IMO.

You might be able to find some pillars for it? Not a bad idea. I feel the heft as well (not that I dislike it).

The problem with removing the back spacer is the clip. Since the clip is screwed into the back spacer swapping it out with pins isn't trivial.

I have considered a G10 back spacer and epoxing the clip and screw so it stays put.

I forgot to contribute.
I LOVE the feel and look of corrugated scales. The Benchmade 530 is herringbone sculpting.

I love the PPT, but i never warmed up to the scales. I'd rather have a consistent or contoured finish. I can't say that I have ever warmed up to the rag-tag look of the "corrugated" pattern. Just appears unfinished, last minute, here you go type of finish to me. But, I'm glad someone enjoys it.

I would make a G10 backspacer and recess some nuts into it for the screws of the clip to hold onto. I pimped a LionSteel Opera and wanted tip up carry so I used some small nuts out of an old beater Kershaw Skyline scale. Put a standard 8-56 thread stainelss screw in and it worked like a charm. Just had to mill out the space on the back of the new scale for the nuts to recess into it.

I wonder if there is enough room for the 8-56 nuts. The Opera came with two threaded sleeves that were press fit into the original G10 scale. Rather than try to get that metric hole just "perfect", I used the nuts instead.

Rag tag look...last minute..unfinished...here you go type...

It's like you're describing me to a T! :D

Yes sir it is. This particular release was an REI exclusive with carbon fiber and S30V.

Rev we definitely do not see eye to eye on this one :)

I got ya...I didn't see the pic last night for some reason. Looks great!

I have a ritter grip also with similar scales from cuscadi.

Right on. That was my first time uploading the photos through tapatalk rather than photobucket... not sure if it shows any different or not.

I just got those Cuscadis on my Ritter and now it's finally getting some IWB carry time :)
