Got detox tomorrow...aka day of fishing

Well, I was hoping to go camping, but things have come up. So if all goes well, I'll be fishing the Kenai River tomorrow for reds, bag my limit of 6... head back home for rest and church Sunday, then back down Monday. The fun thing about fishing is, it's either relaxing and secluded or it's straight up COMBAT FISHING... MAN!!! I LOVE COMBAT FISHING!!! No one will take my fishing hole unless it's a bear... And only if the bear charges, will I shoot at it. Never, I mean NEVER!!!, throw rocks, etc at bears like people who are attacked do :rolleyes:

I surrender fishing holes only to bears :D So in a sense, I'm going to a one day detox center for the fishing deprived. And incase someone is wondering, this is what I pack. And no, I am not joking. The second shotgun is for my bro, or a friend, whichever I am with. Back later on, gotta get some bug dope :eek: Skeeters are the size of birds.. again, I am not joking.

Damn, you really take fishing seriously. I hope you give a shotgun to the bear to make things even :)
 
Yeah. After I was 10 feet from 3 grizzly bear cubs about 2 yrs old and left my mom on a river bank as I went for safety :o , I don't play around anymore :D lol

I like my fishin' and if it's a good fishin' hole, I'll fight for it ;) Just like my infi :p

with the Griz yall have up there in Alasky,,,I caint say that I blame ya on carrying all that firepower while you are out in the bush :eek:

by the way,,if you ever do get a chance to kill a Griz,, I will be willing to buy some of the meat from ya,, and pay the shipping.

could really use some at my next historical reenactment :cool:
 
Damn Kaak, at least you have one fishing pole in the group! Where are the lead weighted triple hooks? I've been to Alaska fishing, but luckly me I only saw bear track, no actual live ones! Well at least if you run out of hooks, you can blast them out of the river!

What's that knife b/w the defender and the rat trap? It looks like a filet knife. Or maybe not. :confused:

It looks like one of the Microtech fillet knives, I think they call it a Black Marlin or something like that.

GOT SKUNKED!!! :grumpy: :mad: :grumpy:

Meaning the first run of red salmon died two days ago. I missed that window. Luckily, the second and better run is coming up soon.

I'll get some pics up tomorrow or so. I just got home from a 3hr, non stop drive. Gotta love two brothers, fish on the brain, infi on the belt and the will power to hold it for 3 hrs :cool: :D :cool:
