Finished it except for putting on an edge... Well... I still havent decided for handle material or keepin' it bare, What do you think???... And I have to decide on a pocket clip... And I'm going to put 'thumb ridges' for grip on the top angle where my thumb goes for traction... Also, I'm thinkin' I'm going to take it to work and give it a 'Satin Blast' finish. This is the first knife in 24 years I've made on purpose for myself. I guess I still have a ways to go but I had to show it , hope you like it!!!

Nice job Michael, I like it. How does the blade lock? Don't know how far your going, but it looks to me like you have come a long way to get there!!!!!!!!!!

I think it looks really nice the way it is. It doesn't need scales. Frame locks look odd to me when they have handle material on one side and are bare on the lock side. I have seen frame locks with material on both sides, and that can look very good.

Nice folder. I would suggest some nice wood scales, cocobolo for example.

Kind regards,

Jos

Looks great Michael! I see you've been hard at it and definitely worth the wait. I'm thinking black or green canvas micarta, black G-10, or maybe even orange G-10 to make it a bit more interesting. I'm not sure if I would like scales on one or both sides, most frame locks have just the one side. I do recommend at least the one side for a secure grip but that's just a personal preference.

just needs the pocket clip and it is done . very nice .

Since my wife painted our kitchen red , I'm thinking that maybe red linen micarta may make some beautiful handle scales .

I hope you will keep offering file/rasp knives. I have convinced myself that I need one.

What kind of stock did you use for this knife? I do not think I have ever seen a folder file knife. Maybe that would be a natural progression for you!

Best regards,

File/Rasp knives are always going to be on my list of favorites to make... As for a 'folder/filer' its been on my mind for a while, I'll definately try one sometime...
This blade is made from 440c treated to 60rc., handle is Titanium, ss hardware,,, I'll be putting a couple of these on the 'folders for sale' in just a couple weeks...
