Got loctite in the grooves of the CF scales on para2

Is there anything around the house that will melt away loctite and not damage the CF on my para 2?

I just changed my clip to tip up, and noticed that the liquid loctite had settled into the cavities in the CF and smoothed out. The scales look completely smooth in that spot so I want to remove it if possible. Thanks!

Check what the melting temp is. I know heating is my prefered method for loosening threadlocked bolts.

Ok. Well how does that pertain to my problem? This has already cured. I want to remove it.

After reading it the above sounds very rude, I didn't mean it that way.

Understandable. Things usually don't come across on the internet as truly meant.

As for getting it off, I agree with buck268. I find that heat is the best way to loosen it. However, I don't know if the temp required would harm the scales.

Put the scale in some boiling water where the spill is for maybe 10 seconds and then hit it with a stiff brush.

The boiling idea sounds good to me. Maybe also gently using a heat gun or hairdryer if that doesn't work.

Word of warning, I once stuck the pivot end of an SnG in boiling water to break loctite and the colour of the G10 was slightly lightened on the area that was submerged. Not sure how CF would differ, but I reckon the black colour woulld show any colour changed pretty easily. Then again, the twill CF has a dual dark/light appearance going on, depending how the light hits it, so you might be okay. ????
