Got me a Case XX Fixed blade!

My Ritter mini Grip came in the mail yesterday so I traded my Mini Grip 556 to a buddy of mine at work. He gave my this nice littlte Case XX fixed blade. It's a Li'l Devil acording to the blade etching. Seems to be well built and perfect size for me. Looks old but it's in great condition.

I like smaller sheath knives, you can really feel your work with a smaller blade..
I'm guessing it's not the correct sheath ?
 
Hey now thats a cool looking knife Kodiak, I've never seen one of thoes before I dont believe. Great score, and even better on a trade, trades always seem more fun! congrats - Joel
 
Thanks guys. I think it may be the right sheath. It fits nice but does not fill the bottom inch. So I'm not shure. It's a nice small full tang knife. I like the finger guard on it. Very simple yet practical.
 
Any one know when Case made the Li'l Devil? I searched the WHOLE internet but found nothing! Thanks guys!:D
 
My dad has one in near mint, I believe he received it for no loss time accidents in the late 70s early 80s. But i could be wrong as to how and when he received it.

I think I was wrong assuming it might be the wrong sheath. It just looks like it in the pic, but I saw one listed on the bay that has the same sheath as yours..
I'm sure it won't be the last thing I'm wrong on :D
 
The sheath does feel a bit large for the knife. A nice custum sheath and this knife would be a great back pocket knife.

Overall leanth - 6.25
Blade - 2.625 (from finger guard)
 
The Case Li'l Devils were only made from 1979-1981. There was a change to the image etched on the blades in mid-1979. They may be dated with Case's dot system. I have examples of each of the 3 years, and both etchings in 1979. Everyone who hunts in my family has one. Great little fixed blade knives. If anyone needs documentation I have it.
