I just recently snatched a Manix 2 lightweight in a trade and I received it yesterday and since I got it I just can't seem to put it down!!!
It's sooooo smooth and the translucent blue handle scales are just amazing!
Here's some photos:

Nice photos! I have one in the mail that should be here tomorrow, so I'm excited for that! Tried the standard Manix (154CM, black blade), but it was a bit heavy for me. Plus, I enjoy the full, flat grinds, so the Manix 2 Lightweight seems to be the perfect choice.

I was curious about the steel as well. Regardless it looks really cool and is for certain an eye catcher. Haven't heard too terribly much about CTS-BD1, but have heard it compared to 440C.

Nice. Bought one of these last month but bought a combo edge by accident so I sold it. I have to pick up a PE version because I was very impressed with the knife. I'm a huge Manix fan and I own several so I'm looking forward to adding this to the group.

CTS-BD1 is compared to VG-10. It actually performs a tad bit better than VG-10. It takes a really nice edge fairly easily like VG-10 but holds its edge a little bit better than VG-10. So far I'm really loving this steel.
It's pretty much just a U.S. produced VG-10 but VG-10 is produced in Japan.

I've been halfway looking for one of these as well, but am willing to wait for a good deal to come my way.

Source?

I used to feel that way about pins, but after many moons with a pinned Centofante III it doesn't bother me so much.

I actually don't mind the pin construction on the Manix because Spyderco says that with the lock it has(I forgot what it's called:/) it is self adjusting, so if it develops blade play the lock is supposed to adjust so that there isn't any.

To me it just says eventual blade play.

I thought so too but it hasn't happened to mine yet I got mine right when they came out. I do kinda wish they would have done a screw build but it isn't a deal breaker cause its a great knife. I would really like to see another in green.

I think its actually comparable to Japanese GIN-1 which was used on a lot of older Spyderco folders. It doesn't have the edge retention of VG-10 thought its easy to sharpen up fast and takes a nice edge.

In fact this has been my only complaint as I can't keep it sharp after cutting seatbelt strap and rope at work. I love the design and the weight. The weight in particular is what drew me to Spyderco in the first place. Still love my unlined Endura and Delica III's.

I would like to see sprint versions of the FRN Manix 2 with screws and upgraded steel. I could live with the pins and most any color FRN but not the steel. I'm not knocking the knife and I love FRN handles but I have just flat been too spoiled by non-pedestrian steels to add this one to the herd. I feel the same about the FRN UKPK. I know I'm not the target market for either knife but I also know that a lot of the guys that buy the higher-end sprints wouldn't mind some FRN sprinkled in amongst the G10.
