I got me another SAK Recruit. It was my very first SAK, but the first one I had had a wobble on the big blade, and the can opener had absolutely NO talk. It walked fine enough, but no snap on the way back. It also had the economy handles, which I thought were pretty cool. Since then I've gotten a Sportsman and a tinker, but..... I don't know. I don't really like having a tool in the back of the knife. I like the traditional slipjoint look, you know? Where all you see are the backsprings? Plus, I like having the smaller blade. It is very sheeple friendly, as are the red scales. I was carrying a Wenger SI, and although I do love it, it is not the "traditional" red handled SAK, and it made some people nervous. The 84mm Recruit is very pocketfriendly, and has the tools I need. Plus, I missed the toothpick and tweezers. Also, the SI's blade is more robust, and seems like it can't take an edge like the non-Alox saks. I mean, it was shaving sharp, but the Recruit and Sportsman get SCARY sharp. Like Scalpel sharp. And like I said, it was my very first SAK, so to have one in my pocket again is slightly nostalgic. I still miss my Peanut, but I think I have found a very worthy replacement. Anybody else EDC one?
