Got my '42 this past weekend!!

So.....after a little calling around I found a small outdoor supply shop near (4.5hr drive, one way) me with a couple of BM42's in stock. Went on Saturday, left at 6am and got home at ~5pm....it was worth it!! I love it.
I paid $119.00+tax or $124.95.
It is stiff...very stiff, but as stated in the forum before, I'm sure it will loosen up!
The only problem I can see is that it's not what I would consider VERY sharp as BM claims from the factory. It's sharp but....
Why is "never been sharpened" a much used phrase in the auctions, does sharpening damage or scratch the blade?....I want it SHARP but don't want it all scuffed/scratched

Most people buying used want the blade untouched right out of the factory. So that they can say that it's like new in the box somehow.

Congatulations on your BM42, it's really worth the 9 hour drive.

If your handles are tight... Just loosen the torx screws ... adjust as needed. yep on the lube... KY dries to fast so use Mil tec if you are a purist ..or try "Finish Line" Bicycle chain Lubricant. It drys dry (sounds funny humm) I bet it's very close to the MilTec and you can get it at any high end Bike Shop. 2oz for $4 LOL Try it on your bike chain too

Thanks for the tips people...really having fun with it so far!
Wasn't really flippin' or even playing with it on the ride home...had to stick it in my girlfriends pants for the border crossing though!!! (not usually recommended!!)
