I ordered them from GPknives on Wednesday and they shipped the same day, but I really wasn't expecting them until Monday at the earliest. To my surprise the mail man handed me a box today.

The Benchmite is really for my mom but it's a nice little knife, feels very solid and looks nice. It's smaller that I thought it would be and can be flipped open easily with one hand.

My 710 is awesome, I've never held a good quality knife before and since I'm used to my Gerber Paraframe this is a real treat. I love the G10 handle, it snaps into place with a nice popping sound, and the fit and finish is great. No blade play and the blade is nice and centered just like I asked GPKnives to check for me. I don't quite have the whole Axis lock thing down to be able to flip it open yet but I'm getting there. Being my first Axis lock knife, I can already see what the big deal is with the lock.

Both knives shave the hair off of my arm, the 710 very easily and the Benchmite a little harder, but it surprised me by shaving at all. I figured the 710 would but wasn't sure about the Benchmite.

I took some pictures, but I'm not sure if I should post them here or the gallery forum.

Yeah that's what I heard before buying it. I started out wanting a Griptilian but then I decided to get the 710 instead because I wasn't sure how I'd like the Grip's handle in actual use. I also kind of wanted to try D2 steel and if I got a D2 Grip it wouldn't have been much less than the 710 so I figured I'd just go for that instead.

The 710 is my favorite large production folder. You will find that the AXIS lock is reliable and easy to operate.
