It does that, fear not. I was underwhelmed when I got it (I expected it to be bigger than it was), but now it is my go-to woods knife.

About your first impression of the BK4...
I picked up the 4 shortly before the 9 and used the hell out of it, clearing a bunch of brush and splitting some kindling wood for the fire place.. When the 9 arrived I really didn't have a use for it, but it grew on me. I hope you will appreciate how the 4 really likes to chop and be abused, and enjoy how it begs you to swing it.

Got a week off next month , hoping to find a place to give the 9 and the 4 a few character marks then. The only problem is now I want a 10 and a 7

Get the 7.... I love that knife and then get a 5 before a 10..; 5 is AMAZING!!!

Nice steel, glad to see you got them! The 4 is very fun, and although you don't have an interest in the 5, if you get a chance to use one you might change your mind

Thanks Nathan I paid $120 aud for my bk9, from an Aussie site, I went into the only b&m in Perth that sells beckers, they wanted $220 aud!
