Well, this is my first non-Bali Benchmade folder, and I am very impressed. The initial feel is similar to my Sifu SE, but a little smaller and narrower. The steel is the same, both D2, but the action of the Benchmade is smoother. The area of the blade that stays in contact with the Axis lock is a bit more finished, not as rough as on the Rekat Sifu. Like the Rolling Lock, the initial lockup of this one tend to be a bit tight to release, but nothing that some Tough Glide and initial usage won't take care of.
The G10 scales are nice, not quite as deep checkering as the Rekats, but plenty adequate for grip. This handle flows well from saber to reverse grip and back. I like the ambidextrous set up with both the Axis Lock and the scales being drilled out for the clip on both sides.
This D2 steel came out of the box "hair poppin'" sharp! only my Spyderco's and my CRKT Companion came out of the box this sharp. Another attention to details for Benchmade!
I think the only thing I would ask for in this knife would be a little bit of a recurve, but it is nice as it is. It's quite obviously going to be in my daily edc routine.
