That means no more waits :D Anyway, first thing I did after work today was to try her out. At first, I found out that the AS didn't cut paper or shave but I decided, what the hell, this knife needs a harder task than that anyway; so outside we go to the wood pile. I took one look at that lumber and slammed my AS into it. The blade sunk in about a half and inch. I pulled the blade out, no tip damage. Hmmmm. Intersting. So, I decide to dig with the blade. No damage. How about chopping ?(which works better than I would have thought being it a necker) Chops wonders. So, I am in awe of the INFI. One question though, what do you guys recommend as far as getting this babe to shave and grab cardboard better? I have a 204 at my disposal.
Thanks,
Matt

Matt,
Congrats on the AS, you're going to have to think of tougher tasks than that to cause any problems with this baby ;)D:D:D

Take a look at the edge, is it a regular V-grind or Assymetrically ground. I had 4 AS's at one time and 2 were v-ground and 2 Assymetrical. The sharpening method will depend on the grind.

Let us know and someone will be able to help you out :D:D

Matt,

Congratulations on the Shaker. Sounds like you're already flexing its muscles, just a little bit. Keep us updated on it.

As much as I love the Assault Shaker, it needs to be ground out of thinner stock to be a better slicer. Even 3/16" would be plenty thick. Imagine an Assault Shaker in 1/8" INFI. Now, that would be a great neck knife! The INFI should be strong enough, even that thin.

Eric,
The grind is assymetrical. I tried the methods on the site, but no luck getting it very sharp :(
Thanks,
Matt
