Got my BK9 the other day!! Man this thing is a beast!
I Haven't really gotten to use it(except for some affectionate handling) but I really like it thus far. It feels really good in my hand, I love that grip shape, and feels like it'd be pretty secure when doing some chopping. I did add a lanyard as I feel this is just a little bit of extra security when chopping. I came hair popping sharp right out of the box and I now have a nice little bald spot on my right arm from it
. Overall I'm very pleased with it and can't wait to get out and use it!
Here's a few pics(crappy pics but we all love knife pron)
This one shows the little mini kit I put together to keep in the sheath pocket. Before I got my BK9 I had thought I was gonna try to get my BK11 to fit in the pocket in place of the BK13 but I decided the mini kit would be a better option, plus the BK13, in addition to prolly being a handy lil' blade, makes a pretty good fire steel striker!
mini kit contents:
2 bandaids
BM field sharpener
Duct Tape
flint striker thingy(lol) it works though
thread
snare wire
compass
cotton/vaseline fire starters
cheap cordage
fishing kit
safety pins
sewing needle
fresnel lens
little worm like lure
magnesium rod with ferro rod on the side
all in a little tin I got somewhere along the way
