Hey Craig, Merry Christmas!

The brass handled WW2 blem arrived and I'm very happy. The handle is not wobbly and the only reason for the blem classification must be a few grind marks next to the handle. And I think that's a fold line but it looks very minor. To me it's absolutely beautiful!

X2! The chakmak and karda are nicer than my panawal's. I'm curious as to how the brass handle will take abuse. I guess there's only one way to find out!

Anyway, I'm glad the big business rush is over(at least until January) and you'll get some time to relax. Here's to you!

Merry Christmas and Happy (and safe) New Year to all the forumites! Woo Hoo!

OMrie: Yes, although I had a terrible memory for Was4U's blem, I do remember yours. The knife had great integrity, but did have those grind marks that I couldn't get out with the buffing wheel. And I seriously wouldn't worry about the fold line, as we've seen those before a few times, and they don't give anybody any trouble.

As for the handle, it should hold up great. It definitely can't crack. If it does ever come lose, some epoxy should do the trick tightening it nicely. But then, we've not had that happen.

Happy Holidays!

Wow! Does this WW2 cut well! I was just out cutting avocado suckers (I admit it's about as soft a wood as you can get!) and I was going through them effortlessly. I was going through 4 inch suckers with one swipe. It seemed to cut better than my panawal. I think the panawal chops while this cuts. I can't wait to get my panawal back to compare. Maybe my technique's improved or maybe this size khuk is more suited to me and I'm able to get more speed. The brass handle feels good and didn't sting my hand. For the price it feels like a gift more than a purchase.

All the best

OMRie,

I had a SN-1 and a Panawal. I agree, the smaller Khuk's seem to cut more than chop and my personal preference is for the lighter, faster blades.

I traded my Panawal for a SN-1 that was custom handled by Ray (Maddog 2020). Now I have one for each hand
