I don't know how it happened, but it happened...

The one place I didn't check in my area for a BM-42, and guess what? They still had about ten apiece of the 42 and the 42A!!!

Needless to say, I bought the BM-42. The listed price was $140, but due to a store-wide sale, and a 20% reduction, I got it for $106 after taxes.

Initial observations...

So light, you forget you have it in your hip pocket. :D Mine has loose handles, but I'll get the necessary torx drivers later this weekend. The smallest one I have is a T10..

Fast, very fast in the simple manipulations I did with it. That Ti really does live up to it's claims as to weight.

Some rough areas on the handles, but they're small enough not to really stand out. Clean blade, sharp as a diamond-coated saw blade. :D

Only other compaint is that the latch takes considerable effort to close with the handles in the closed position. Anyone know if this gets better with use?

In a nutshell, I'm happy with it, and will be even happier when I get Clay's BM-42 belt sheath day after tomorrow, or thereabouts.

YAY !!! You finally got your bm-42. Isnt it great ? You didnt even have to wait for it to come through the mail. You got it for a great price too. Lucky you. I guess you desereve it though. You had to wait for 9 months and find out that you didnt even order it.:D All I can say is watch out for the blade. Its sharp.

don't worry about latching- you're supposed to squeeze. Makes it locked all the tighter. In time, you'll probably be able to latch it one-handed. How I latch it is I squeeze the handles and slam it down on my thigh to close the latch

Actually, Chinese man, it was nine weeks, but it sure felt like nine months...

Darth: Yeah, I read about them being a bit tight, but I guess that's normal. I will adjust the screws when I get a set of Torx drivers tomorrow. I still can't get over how light it is, though.

As for the blade, I've already shaved a small patch of hair off my left forearm with it, so I will watch out for the blade.

Thanks for the support, guys. If there's ever a day where I can meet all you guys, I'll be there. :D

Yeah! Isnt it amazing how light the bm42s are? I mean I was use to my Jag for 2 years and I'm still trying to get use to the weight of my bm. According to knifezilla.com the jag weighs 6.8 oz and the bm42's weigh 4.1 oz. Thats a huge difference. My knife was also shaving sharp out of the box. Shaved my thigh. If you really need the torx screw drivers you can get them at Wall-mart if you didnt catch it. It was like $1.97 for a set of t6(latch),t8(piviots) torx screw drivers. 2.4mm,3.0mm flat heads and #0,#00 phllips screw drivers. The quality seems really really really cheap though.(It feels really cheap) But if works and its cheap.

I just remiltec-1 my bm today. Your bm sqeaking too huh ?It was like its 6th time being milteced and it swings so much better out of the box. No more anoyig ! SQUEAKING  !

Well I probally should be shuting up now so just get your miltec-one and you're ears will be very happy.:D

it's also really good at shaving skin ;)

the first time I really handled a BM42, it was so light I thought I was going to break the damn thing

:) i just got my bm42 last week.i have to say your right i love the ti handels, it rocks,i hope your as happy as i'm. have fun

The handles and the knife does feel cheap right out of the box doesnt it ? I know that it isnt but I felt this way when I first got it because it was so frekaing light. But I know that the ti handles are great, super, very super, no its super duper:D material and will hold up to its rep.

I'm enjoying mine, but I made a mistake last night, and found out how sharp the tip of the knife really is...

I was working the handles with both bands near my face  when the blade swung around and put a 1/8-inch cut on my left cheek. First blood goes to the bali, and first smack on the forehead goes to me. :D

OuCh! I told you that the point is extremely pointy and sharp. Thats why I named my bm42A "POKEY". You should name yours "POKEY2":D or "MOTHER POKEY". Wait no I got it you should name your bm42 "SON OF A POKEY":D

Anyways so did you get use to the weight of the new light bali yet. I just miltec-1 mine last night for like its 5th treatment and it swings like "WOOOOOOOOOW! The best part is that there is no more  "SQUEAKING". For me, after about 2 weels or so I re-miltec it once. I do use clays way of miltecing it. OVER KILL !:D I figure that since I bought the sniper pakage that has the 4 floz and the 1/4fl oz with all its parts I can over miltec it as much as I want.:D

I should call my miltec the killer of squeaking.:D

YEAH ! Son Of A Pokey is some funny stuff. All I can say now is don't drop the "SOAP"! If you catch my drift.

Well, I did call it a son of a something else when I got clawed by it.

I still can't get over how light the handles are, even after having it for a full day. Maybe that feeling never goes away...

Well, the lighter it is, the better it will ride in Clay's sheath that I ordered on Thursday. Should be getting it on Monday. All-in-all, I just need to lube the joints, and the knife will be completely mine. :D:D:D
