Does yours have that cosmetic grind on the top near the tip?

Hard to tell in those pics :confused:
 
mine too has the cosmetic grind on tip.....wonder why.

also, i cant see the temper line on mine....is that because the tan coating is hiding it?

does anyone have a buck 119 sheath? someone said it would fit in it.

do you think a kydex sheath would scratch the tan coating?

i wonder if the kydex sheath for the short ka-bars would be a good fit for the DJ?

Got mine Desert Jack as well. Very cool knife. Nice large choil and penetration tip. Dare I say more comfortable than original SJ. Nice Job!
 
Hi,
Buck 119 sheath will not hold the Jack.I tried in the flap style and the Snoopy sheath.Neither fit.

Thanks for saying that. I was about to go and buy one. i looks like i will get a spec ops sheath.

upon closer looking, it seems that the DJ does have a penetrator tip like the bandicoot....it isn't just a cosmetic gtrind after all :eek:


does anyone have a link to the spec ops sheath that would fit this....also, is this specops sheath ambidextorous?
 
Best guess is that kydex would smooth the coating out over MANY in/out cycles. Probably wouldn't notice it much unless you got unlucky and trapped some sand in between the blade and sheath and got actual scratches.

Don't beat yourself up Chuck, there are already some out on the secondary market. Some guys must have bought them before they had their taxes done. :)
