I have become a big fan of the wood inlays lately, and although I can live with it with no problem the one thing I don't really like is that you

can't get inlays on a blasted frame( except micarta). It must be satin finished.

Well thanks to a good buddy here on the forums I was able to change all that.He turned a great looking knife into something very special and

downright beautiful. He does such smooth clean work, and although I hate to

blasphemy I kinda like his blast more compared to the darker blast that CRK does.

I also had all the hardware blasted.

Well....here are the pics. The last ones are before and after.

Thoughts,concerns,gripes,discussion,props,congrats,comments...its all welcome. Please let me know what ya think :D

My opinion, Looks Great! I really like the blasted look... That is why I have a small micarta coming soon......

Thanks guys, really appreciate the words of encouragement!!

@Professor, yup he taped the wood up.They still have that deep dark color.I also coat them with Renaissance wax weekly to keep them nice and ebony-esque :D

Man, look...i'm always one to alter the finish on any CRK i get, so +1 to you for having the balls to go for it:thumbup: It is a big decision, especially on inlays and the sort, because CRK wont re blast 'em for you. Looks like you have someone though that can do it for you if you ever want to put it back stock.

As for yours, it looks awesome bro!:eek::eek::thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks for the support bro.Yeah it was a big decision...I was of course worried it might not look right or perhaps the inlays would somehow be affected, but I'm so happy I went with it.

Here is another 21 he did for me awhile back...I wish like hell I still had it.

Very nice, it a user or collection piece?

Definitely a user, thats another reason why I got it blasted. The satin polished scales are kinda too arty/safe queen to me.And actually with this fine of a blast, it hides scratches alot better than the stock satin scales.

i like it a lot and I really like the fact that you blasted the hardware. I'd like to know how that Spirograph Damascus performs, keep us posted.

That looks great. I much prefer the blasted look over the satin.

I really would like a snakewood looking like that.

I think it looks great. I reblast every CRK that passes through my hands.:D

If its anything like my raindrop, it holds up amazing even after years of use.Great stuff Devin Thomas is doing!!

Me Too!!

Looks terrific, classy AND usable. Well done mate.

Thanks...He absolutely nailed t.

Haha...I heard that.Personally I think CRKs blast is too dark and scattered(if that makes sense)

Nice, I like it.
Picture no.4 made it for me.
Now this is a fine user.
Congrats
red mag

Thanks red...It is most definitely my daily carry.I truly love it.

I wonder if he lightly blast the wood, what the wood would look like?

Not sure..I think it might lighten the wood up, which in the case of Ebony would be a sin.I apply Renaissance Wax to it daily so it stays nice and deep dark.
