I searched and searched and finally found an Internet source for a vintage 532. The FedEx man brought me a Buck 532-RD-0 today. I had never held a 532 before, and I can tell you that this rosewood beauty has knocked me out like few other blades have. I've long searched for a knife of high-quality steel with a 3-inch blade and a 4+-inch wood handle to feel comfortable in my large mitts, and this Buck fits the bill. The tang reads MASTER SERIES BG42 on on side and BUCK 532MSU USA on the other side. The vendor says he is out of the 532BR's but might have more 532RD's and the 532BL. I just might get one in blue. This is such a terrific pattern. I can't understand why it isn't a standard Buck offering.

With all the people that love this knife, it's really something that Buck doesn't put one out now and then for the "nut cases" like me and a bunch of other folks...LOL...Great knife isn't it?.

I found this place about a year ago selling them and was holding out thinking that they would eventually drop the price... but I guessed wrong.

That's actually a pretty good price as it stands. They've showed up on Ebay and ended up selling for much more. I have one identical to yours and consider it one of my favorites. It's simply a beautiful little knife that seems to be just the right size and with a very good blade. :)

You should check out the BCCI ironwood edition with BG-42 steel!! I think the club has about 6 left. John Foresman is the man to ask.
