I'm going to a friend's bachelor party this weekend. Said party involves camping out in Montauk, tons of fishing, and whatever outdoorsey trouble 24 guys can get into. This gave me a perfect excuse to finally order a BK9 and some micarta handles. This thing is going to make a great camp knife! feathering logs for an easy burn, chef's knife duties, fish beheading duties (God willing) and anything else I can think of. It won't be sporting the micarta this weekend. I plan to dye and finish them first, as well as strip the blade - but I figure that would be best to do AFTER camping on the beach. Blade grind out the box is great too.

bachelor party? So there will be strippers! I wanna see pics of a BK9 with strippers! lol

Bachelor party + camping + 24 dudes = plenty of trouble. You may want to brush up on your lifesaving and first aid skills. ;) Don't let anyone sink that 9 into their leg. Have fun!

BK9 > driftwood

very cool. we must see some pics of the 9 in action. I'm from the Island myself, went out to Montauk for Prom weekend back in the day. You guys should have fun out there but be safe. It's all fun and games until someone gets taken away in handcuffs.

Sounds like a good time. Oh yeah, pics or it didn't happen.

That was my first thought. There's always that one guy. ;) Have fun and stay safe.

BK9 and a bachelor party. Could life get any better? A perfect combination.

Just remember:

"Tigers *love* pepper. They hate cinnamon." Wise words.

Luckily I'm staying with the "30 and over" group. Last outdoorsy bachelor party I went to (several years ago) involved renting a house in the Catskills, playing a drinking game called "nails" or "stump" that involved a stump, nails, and tossing claw hammers...and I got bit by a deer tick on that one (luckily I got treated withing 72 hours).

God willing the stripers will outnumber the strippers.

Should be fun. I should be able to bring all my fishing tackle to bear - 12-footer for surfcasting on the ocean side, 7.5-foot back bay rod for the Bay side, 6' boat rod for the charter boat, and my freshwate rig for the pond that's a mile's hike away from the campsite.
