~WARNING MEANINGLESS RANT AHEAD~
I got my ritter grip today from a trade, this is my first experience with the axis lock ever.
My first impressions are O_O yes! I'm used to the super ball detent my Para 2 has, when I went to open the mini ritter for the first time I was shocked as to how easily it opened. It was a little dirty from being edc'd so i took the scales off and cleaned them and flushed out any dirt and old oil with some alcohol and re oiled everything and its just as smooth as my pm2 now :D It doesn't drop freely when I undue the lock but with a slight nudge it flicks closed. I just had to tell someone who'd understand. No one I talk to in real life is a knife nut at all.
Also I noticed when I resharpened it to the edge I prefer I noticed that it seemed much softer than spyderco's s30v. Is benchmades a lower Rc?
I guess I could show a picture of it as well for a late night knife fix for some.

Good lookin edc. When I got my first BM my plan was to immediatly trade it off. I even posted a thread. A few days later and I was hooked.

You've got a great little edc knife there with that Ritter mini. Now the next step is a nice set of custom scales, then you'll really be cookin' with fire

Nice catch, excellent for a first BM! Ain't the Axis the $#!7? I love my mini grip with standard blade. I like the handle a lot, no complaints here; plastic and all.

It should drop freely in time.

I'd like to get a Ritter grip and pimp it sometime also.

Welcome to the sickness. Your first griptilian...

Ahhhhhhh I remember my first... :)

In regards to the steel: S30v is a super steel, but it has a tendency to chip when abused. One of the reasons Doug Ritter went with benchmade for the folder is that the knife needed to take some abuse. The Ritter edge tends to roll instead of chip.

Welcome to the fold(er). Much like you, the Grip was my first Benchmade, but it will not be my last. I will probably go broke buying them. As long as no one tells my wife, I am good to go.

Great 1st benchmade. Now you need to get a custom set of scales from Keyman to make it even more special.

Yea, its not my first encounter with the steel I like it a good bit. I have a para 2 but it seems to be heat treated harder as I have much more trouble sharpening that than I did with the ritter.

I bought my first grip at a gun show last year... 20 mins later I had another one! ! Now im have like 20 something benchmades. Welcome to the sickness!

I'm working on getting my wife addicted like me. I just started with the BM's (sounds dirty). A standard griptilian for me, a pink mini for her.
