so ive just recieved my benchmade 707 sequel last night. ive done lots of research to try and find "the" edc for me. started with a crkt drifter, then tried a spyderco g-10 dragonfly. i didnt like how wide it was and i wasnt super excited about the backlock. i just went back to the crkt. so i shelled out the cash for this benchmade. slim, good size, looks great... but for some reason im just not overwhelmed with joy like i thought i would be. the axis lock is fun but i think i prefer a liner lock. i guess i havent carried it yet, so i havent really given it a chance. anyways, i just thought i would share my knife news with people who understand.

Thanks for posting your experiences. I have always found the Sequel to be an elegant and sleek knife. As for the Axis lock, give it time and you will wonder how you ever did without it.

i prefer framelocks over any other lock system, even though a lot of people swear by the axis. its a nice system just not my fav. youre probably going to have to buy quite a few knives before you find the one though.

I agree I bought probably about forty knives before I found my "perfect" EDC.

ive probably had 20 or so, and they've all been higher quality knives, bm's, spydercos, kershaws. right now i dont see myself liking anything more than my small classic seb. i'd like to try a leafstorm though as i like the opening hole a lot more than the stud.

right now my grail would probably be a small micarta seb with damascus, but for that price i think i might go custom. its a tough call to make when youre spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars.
