Got my first BK2 today ( thanx to ol'leatherneck for putting a 2 on the tag/bottle opener )...what a beast! And must be a 1st gen cause it's full tang.can't wait to clean it up a bit and put it to good use.

all are full tang you're is the one before the cutouts where put in the tang! but gratz its a keeper for sure!

Yeah,that's what i meant,no cut out.pretty happy for $40!!!!!!

!!! that is a steal for that piece of awesome steel!!!

I love my BK2 I've used it quite a bit since I have gotten it. It is definitely a workhorse! and will destroy any task you put in front of it!

Worked a bit on this bad boy today...added a choil,a wayne and forced a patina wich extend the wood veins i think.now onto some sharpening and get that guy some pants.

Aren't the first generation BK-2's the ones that do not have the laser etch and that is the easiest way to tell them apart without taking the handles off?

They also don t have skeletonized handle and the pommel isn t squared off.they are rolled stamped instead laser etched but i do not know when that transition was made.
