Well my new Wetterlings Carpenter axe arrived today and I'm pretty happy with it but it has some minor things I'm not super happy with. First is a mistake on my end which was to not measure just how long 19-5/8" was. I thought it would have been a bit longer but this isn't that much longer than a hatchet. It does allow for a decent two hand grip though so I'm not too worried about this issue. Next is the feel of the handle. Its got a rough finish which to me gives me the nails ion a chalkboard feeling so I'm gonna stain it to a darker color and smooth it out. But as a plus it came nice and super sharp and I will use it asap. All in all I do really like it and these tiny flaws in no way make me like it any less. This is a great product and I can't wait to break it in. From what I hear these will last a lifetime with proper care and can even be handed down to my kid(provided my daughter wants an axe
). And for the price its a great deal IMO cuz I can't see a Gransfors being much better yet the price can be up to nearly double the wetterlings.
