... and I am so impressed!

I got today Buck Vantage Pro with S30V and smooth G-10 handles. And wow!

I expected a lot bulkier knife (based on images I saw) but this has nice and slimmer profile, feels good in my hand. Low riding pocket clip is very nice. I heard that many had problems with Vantage Pro's blade centering. Mine was nearly perfectly centered. No rubbing against liner.

Blade: My first S30V blade ever. Dang this thing is sharp. It easily push cuts thru paper like paper wouldn't be there. Liner lock snaps loudly and feels solid.

Only slight negative thing I found this sample that the tang extension used as flipper had sharp edges but its nothing a whetstone and diamond file did not fixed.

This won't be my last Buck knife. That is for sure. Next on the line are Buck 55 / Prince and venerable classic the Buck 110. I have to say for $49,95 this knife was a steal.

Congrats on the new knife! :thumbup:

I love mine and it quickly became one of my favorite EDC knives. I like to carry it when I will be in a "sensitive" environment as it does ride nice and low and inconspicuous. Oh, and I fixed the sharp edge of the liner lock with my diamond rod.

$40 + Paul Bos HT'ed S30V + great blade shape + low-ride clip + G-10 + strong liner lock = :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

thats a sweet knife man, i was thinking very seriously about getting one. let us know how it works for you.

Pretty much all my Bucks impressed me with their value. I really like the Vantage- and to think there are two versions that cost even less! (and are still great knives)

Is the Vantage series made in the U.S.A? If so, they'd be right up my alley.

I just looked online at a couple of different dealers and they have the Vantage Pro listed as made in USA.

I'm interested in this knife also. It seems rather inexpensive for a knive with a G10 handle and S30V blade. Is the Vantage Pro similar in quality as compared the other higher priced brands?

I can carry many knives, but the Vantage is the one I carry in civy clothes now.

Great knife for the money!

The Vantage series does not have the fit and finish of a much more expensive knife. But it is very smooth opening and closing and locks securely. The blade on my Pro is very well ground, I would not hesitate to recommend one. For sheer cutting performance, this is one of the best deals out there.
