It was a looong wait but my SJ LE#115 arrived today. It's 3/16 and has a great convex edge. Despite it's thickness it cuts very nicely, it shaved paper, and went through cardboard like a knife half it's thickness(need to find something to chop now...) I'm quite impressed with this knife, very nice.

Have a question though, how do I contort that piece of string to lock the knife in the sheath? It's like one of those brain teaser puzzles right now, but the solution is probably painfully obvious.

Nice purchase Lightweight! Your addiction has just begun. Welcome to the Busse family.
As for the cord on the sheath, depending on the length, just wrap it around the handle once or twice and snap it. You can also adjust the lenght of the cord. This allows for a double wrap, single wrap or just enough length to use the front talon hole/riccaso to keep the blade from sliding out. (I hope that makes sense:))

"Fire in the hole!"

...it has begun!;)

Nice score!.... but you do not get any points until you post pics...we want pics man!

Thanks, and I figured out the string a couple of minutes after posting. It WAS painfully obvious... my brain must have temporarily shut down from a joy overload when recieving the knife:footinmou :)

My first experience with Micarta, so I'm guessing when I say it's canvas, and it's a dull charcoal type colour. It also has silver pins which I wasn't expecting(but REALLY like), do SJs come with silver pins now?

:) :) :)

Congrats Lightweight, the SJ LE is a nice one.
Welcome to the family!!:D

This B.A.D. is my first Busse.

I'd have to say -- I'm impressed. I think I've carried it every day since I got it.

lightweight,

I got my first Busse today too! I am deploying next month and wanted to upgrade my carry knife. I have seen a couple of Busse's in the past but had not paid much attention to them. My wife wanted to get me a knife to take with me when I shipout for a Christmas gift. I am new to this forum and had been reading some post when I got a phone call. My wife was going to get on to check email but instead clicked on the thread from MikeH on the busse.com form (listed as "you gotta read this" on this forum"). When I came back to office to get back on I was shocked to see her reading the post and crying. She said " want to know where I can buy you one of those knives, because any company with this type of compassion has earned our bussiness". I read the post and had the same sentiments. So, today I went to my friends store(former SF). He had some that he picked up from last months shows. So, long story short, I am now a PROUD owner of a Natural Outlaw! And like Lightweight, I am looking for stuff to chop! Here and overseas;) .

AIRBORNE!

Stray1,
Welcome to the Forums, glad you stopped by. :D:D

Great choice of a knife and of a Company.

Be Safe and check in when you get back.

:D:D

stray1,
Congrats on your NO, hope she serves you well.
Stay safe in your deployment. Take care.

Thank you for the welcome and good lucks. I appreciate them. I am not leaving for a few weeks and will continue to haunt the forum via satcom (when we can sneak an up link.;)

AIRBORNE!

Lightweight - congrats on the new Busse! I just ordered a couple yesterday and can't wait!
Stray1 - the thread you refer to is the very reason I decided to take the plunge, too! Only I think you'll be having far more fun with yours than I will - deployment will give you so many more opportunities than the daily grind of a law firm!:( Stay safe and use it in good health! :D

Congrats on the knives guys....they will serve you well.Good luck on the deployment and thanks for your sevice.
