So I graduated yesterday from university and my folks surprised me with a Cold Steel American Lawman as a graduation present. Man, this knife is awesome! I have never owned a Cold Steel knife before, but have read up a lot on the triad lock and how good they do their AUS8A steel, and how tough they make their knives. Damn, this lock is solid! No play in any direction, and the blade is shaving sharp out the box. I like this American Lawman so much I'm seriously considering getting the Mini Lawman. Here in South Africa, Cold Steel knives are expensive, so I always used to look at them and say "one day". That one day came. I graduated with a BSc in engineering geology and since the nature of my future work will involve sometimes tough conditions, possibly in the deepest darkest parts of Africa, and while I won't abuse it, I look forward to using this knife in all sorts of applications.

Take care all

Mike

Congrats on the graduation first of all. That is a big accomplishment. Secondly, congrats on the Lawman. Its a great knife that will surely give you many years of service.

The mini lawman is really good at making tender. It fits so good in your hand that u can really get a good grip and make some persice cut's. It's just that for another 10 buck's u can get the regular lawman! The tuff light is a really good small knife to! Even tho it doesn't have that sweet grippy g10. It has some great ergo's. Better than some spyderco's. imo. and Im a spydie guy!

Thanks guys, it took a lot of hard work and some tears getting that degree! :D

I mainly wanted to get the mini lawman just as a more easy to carry knife, because I'm generally a 2.5 - 3" blade guy for edc, however after carrying my full sized lawman for a few days, I honestly barely notice its there. It carries very well for such a fairly big knife
