Man oh man, am I excited about this knife! I am very impressed with it, to say the least. It's the General Utility model with black Micarta scales. The kydex sheath is perfect, too. I agonized for weeks trying to decide which custom to buy first, and finally decided I should support a fellow Arkansan.

I have a feeling there will be more Doziers in my future.

You made a great choice with a Dozier, I'm sure there will be lots of folks here that will agree!

Thanks, Vince!

jeffj: I was at the school earlier today and had it with me in hopes of showing it off to you!

Well done Lagerman, It is going to be hard to beat that Dozier at any price. You can buy more expensive knives but you won't find a better worker. I've got three, 2 folders and a fixed blade and think the world of all three. Bob knows how to work D-2 and get the most from it. Good luck with your Dozier!!

Congrats and good choice.
I have a couple of his knives and that is my choice for daily carry.
The more you use it the more you love it.

Lagerman, I have chosen the Dozier Pro Skinner as my first custom fixed blade. It is a great knife! My only regret is that for a while I can not afford any more Dozier knives. My next purchase would be a Canoe knife or a Straight personal or an Elk hunter or some of his amazing folders or...
So many Doziers, so poor finances...

But at last you can always have your next knife on your wish list.

Congratulations!
And use it.

I know what you mean, littleknife! I wrestled at first on which maker to choose and settled on Dozier after looking at his website and reading all the praise here. But the really hard part was which model! I also like the straight personal, and I'd like a Ranger eventually. I feel very confident that I'll add at least one more Dozier to my collection in the next 6 months.

lagerman,
Congrats! I ordered the very same knife and am still waiting. However...I was able to buy a Dozier Professional Guides Knife last week through the for sale forum and it just arrived this evening. All I can say is WOW! This is really (and I mean REALLY) an impressive knife. I bought it from Lenny (thanks Lenny!) and it is in MINT condition. Besides the knife being an awesome masterpiece, I was really impressed by the kydex sheath. It's absolutely the best I've ever seen. Nearly as elegant as the knife. I can't wait to give this knife a workout and I'm really looking forward to the general utility knife.

No doubt more Doziers on the horizon.

For the amount they get used, Doziers are a real bargain compared to my other customs. How many of us have customs that get used sparingly because of their expense and worrying about staining or chipping the blade.

Doziers stuff begs to be used daily, and on everything. Cost per use is fractions of a penny.

Off to look at Dozier T-picks.

Chris, I knew you'd be happy if you went and got exactly what you wanted. I still have that Reverse Tanto if the fever has you bad

Well, since you mentioned it, ME TOO! I mean I decided to buy a fixed blade for outdoor use, mainly hunting. I looked over production knives, nothing really "hooked" me. Then I began thinking of customs that I wouldn't mind using in the woods. Doziers name kept popping up. Hardly more expensive than a good folder, D2 steel, micarta handles, handmade, great handling characteristics, ect...
After poring over Doziers site and AG Russells, I decided on the K4 Straight Hunter. I called Doziers shop and spoke with his wife Linda. What a pleasant experience, really great lady. And man, did I luck out. This was right after the big knife show in New York. Guess what? They had a sample K4, only better, green micarta handles, brass pins, B style sheath which suited me better than the horizontal sheath. And, it was in stock, ready to ship! Needless to say I jumped on it. It is mine, all mine now!
After handling and using the K4 a little I determined I also wanted a smaller knife for more of a personal, utility type user. Nobody had anything like this in stock.

Then Kevin Deason posted a Dozier Razorback on the for sale forum. And with a very fair price to boot. It's mine, all mine!
I'm planning now for a slightly LARGER Dozier. Wife tells me I'm out of control. She says that like it was a bad thing, I don't understand.

Congrats lagerman,

I have a Yukon skinner and a Master skinner with more planned in the future -perfect blades for my fishing and offroading expeditions. You just can't go wrong with any Doziers. Enjoy!

Wise choice lagerman. Strait Personal: wiser choice!

I can' t say it enough. Doziers are simply the most useful fix blades I' ve ever owned. They are still going strong after so many years of use. Priced at a working mans salary, you just can' t go wrong.

A helpful hint here: request for the scales in a blast finish. Bob smooths them out a bit as standard. Drives me nuts for a using knife!

Hey Hoodoo, glad you like the knife. I miss it already and I'll definitely get another when I take care of some more pressing expenses. I'll probably end up buying the same knife. I also want one of his smaller utility style knives, don't know which one though. His smaller folders are also beautiful, and expensive. But they would have a really difficult task competing for pocket time with my Sebenza.
Merry Christmas Everyone.
Lenny

Yup, Lenny. Can't say I'm sorry you sold it.

I'm really impressed with his work. He really does fine work and you took great care of the knife. Thanks.
smile.gif
I don't think I will be as nice to it.

It will definitely be a user for me.

I hear his prices are going to go up so I will probably order the GP Hunting knife soon.
