After a few days of searching I finally found the knife I was looking for. I am now the proud owner of a mini "7" B with a plain satin blade. I got lucky and found a satin blade model that was still in stock. Being my first EKI knife, I'd like some input on how mini owners like their knives. I used to have a bm 970 and loved it. How does the EKI compare with the BM version? Also one last question, what is the difference between the satin and stonewashed versions of the knife? I don't care either way as I'm going to use the heck out of it, but it would be nice to know for info purposes. Thanks and I'll post a review of the knife as soon as I recieve it.

Congratz! To me, good quality knives are just that. Enjoy that 7. The CQC7 is my favorite Emerson.

The traditional satin blades employ a matt coating known as Cerakote, which is a durable, abrasion resistant coating. However, it will eventually scratch and wear off. Stone washed blades are first tumbled together with other abrasive materials to render a random pattern of fine scratches on the blade. I find it quite attractive, but YMMV.
